What is the difference between pruning and trimming?
Trimming is mostly about clearance and appearance. Pruning is about the tree's health and structure: what comes out so the rest grows strong. Most properties need some of both, from the same visit.
When is the best time to prune?
It depends on the species. Many hardwoods prefer dormant-season cuts; some flowering trees have their own calendar. We schedule the work for the tree, not for us.
Can pruning save a struggling tree?
Often, yes. If disease or deadwood is the problem, removing it early can turn the tree around. When we think a tree cannot be saved, we say so before you spend money pruning it.
