You do not need to name a treatment before making an inquiry. Point out which tree the question concerns, where it stands, and what you want to change. If several trees need attention, describe each one separately so the request is clear.

Compare the work, then the quote
Before comparing totals, check that each proposal describes the same work. A tree takedown, stump grinding, and removal of the material are separate things to ask about. Put your choices in writing so an omitted task is easy to spot.
