Tree Trimming
Trimming is preventive medicine for trees: clearance for the roof and driveway, light and air for the canopy, and deadwood out before it drops on its own.
Good trimming follows the tree's structure. Crown thinning selectively removes branches to reduce density and let light and air move through the canopy, which makes the tree more resilient to pests, infections, and storm wind. Crown raising lifts the lower branches for clearance over vehicles, walkways, and the lawn you are trying to keep alive underneath.
Clearance cuts keep limbs off the roof, out of the gutters, and away from utility lines. Every cut lands at the collar so the tree can close over it cleanly. No topping, ever.

Asked About Tree Trimming.
How often should trees be trimmed?
Every one to three years for most species, depending on how fast they grow and how close they stand to the house. We will tell you honestly which trees can wait.
Can you trim near power lines?
Yes. Line-side work is done with the right equipment and coordination so limbs come away from the lines safely.
Will trimming hurt the tree?
Done right, the opposite. Proper cuts at the collar, thinning instead of topping, and the right season for the species keep the tree healthier than leaving it alone.
